                                       "BASIC RULES OF RASING A PUPPY"

1. It is up to the parents to teach children how to handle a new puppy.

2. Children should be taught not to bother any dog or puppy while it is eating, as even the most even tempered dog will growl and may bite someone who interferes with its food.

3. NEVER disturb a sleeping puppy or dog.

4. NEVER allow a child to attempt to take a toy or other valued object away from a puppy or dog.

5. NEVER allow a child to play unsupervised with a young puppy as the child may be too rough with it.

6. When a child's own dog bites him or  her it's usually because the child is tormenting the dog.

7. The formula for rasing a healthy puppy is to start it off right and follow though with a good management program which should involve the following factors;
           (1) proper housing     (2) proper sanitation      (3) proper nutrition
                         (4) control of parasites         (5) proper training

8. The average dog takes one to three weeks to housebreak, PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING, and a ready mop are requisites. Success in housebreaking depends on you the dog owner. Any failure in housebreaking is usually the fault of the owner.

9. The memory of the puppy is about 30 second long, if it is disciplined after that time it will not realize what it has done wrong. TRY TO ACT QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE WHEN IT ERRS.

10. The most important command for the dog to understand is "NO", you have to make the puppy or dog know you mean it when you say it.
